| Lots of people have Aspergers syndrome, which is a type of autism that is relatively mild, and many children begin showing symptoms at an early age. Only a doctor or psychologist can really tell if a child has Aspergers, as some of its symptoms are also typical in other conditions. What follows are a few of the symptoms of Aspergers that many children with this condition will display. It is difficult for a child with Asperger's to understand the differences in speech. People use the tone of voice and pronunciation of a person they are talking with to understand what is being said. A person who has Asperger's won't be able to key into the emotional intention of the speaker because they have a hard time processing such ques. They will have difficulty understand irony or sarcasm, for example, because the words aren't being used literally. A typical sign of Aspergers syndrome is that a child does not mix well with other kids. Groups of children in school or a park will usually form friendships and organize games. Unlike children with other kinds of autism, who will usually stay by themselves, those with Aspergers often reach out to others awkwardly or in ways that seem odd. A child might, for instance, try to join a game in progress without permission or say something insulting for no apparent reason. Thus, socializing becomes hard for these kids as they don't seem able to follow the usual rules of conduct. Their problems fitting in also make them vulnerable to bullies. Most children with Aspergers will have this problem of interacting with others in one form or another. It's also common for children with Aspergers symptoms to move in an awkward manner and to make faces that seem strange. They often have distinctive ways of standing, walking and moving around. They often have eccentric and idiosyncratic patterns of moving and behaving. Unlike most people, their reactions often have no obvious link to what is happening or what anyone is saying. Very often, children with Aspergers will not return a smile or laugh, and typically will avoid eye contact. Autistic children in general have similar symptoms, but in more extreme cases it prevents them from living any kind of normal life, whereas with Aspergers the symptoms are much milder. Even professionals who are experienced at recognizing the symptoms of Aspergers have to look at a child thoroughly before knowing for sure if this is their problem. The symptoms we've covered in this article are common ones, so any child who shows signs of them should be examined. Additional Info :- Teeth Grinding Teeth Grinding Treatment | |
